GFRP Mesh for Underfloor Heating Reinforcement
PRODUCT
REBARMAT® GFRP Mesh
– Non-metallic, corrosion-resistant glass-fiber reinforced polymer reinforcement
Dimensions
Mesh spacing: 100 × 100 mm
Bar diameter: Ø4 mm
Sheet format: 1.0 × 3.0 m (or supplied in rolls where required)
Location
Netherlands
Interior residential spaces
Used for
– Reinforcement of concrete screed with integrated underfloor heating
Typical applications: living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms
Primary functions:
– Crack control due to thermal expansion and contraction
– Crack control due to shrinkage during curing
– Load distribution in thin concrete layers
– Long-term durability without corrosion risk
Installation
Installed above insulation layer and beneath heated screed
Installation notes:
– Does not damage or react with PEX / PE-RT heating pipes
– Can be cut on site without sparks or special equipment
– Maintains position during concrete pour
Why GFRP instead of steel
No corrosion – ideal for warm, humid screed environments
Non-conductive – does not interfere with heating system efficiency
Lightweight – easy handling on site, faster installation
No thermal bridging – maintains uniform heat distribution
No magnetic interference – compatible with smart home sensors
Slab characteristics
– Screed thickness: 30–70 mm
– Concrete class: according to EN standards for interior floors
– Compatible with cement-based and anhydrite screeds
Reference standards
EN 1264 (water-based underfloor heating systems)
EN 13813 (screed materials)
EAD-based GFRP reinforcement principles
Sustainability
– Long service life
– Reduced maintenance
– Corrosion-free lifecycle
